The batteries are new but have sat for over a year so may want to use fresh batteries. I bought two and decided to just use one of them. Please note the Bridge used for remote access or out of bluetooth range only works on 2.4Ghz networks and needs to be within 10 feet of the lock to work. Router/AP should be within 30 feet for best conditions. I have found that the fingerprint reader can take a few tries which is why I suggest registering yourself as multiple fingerprint users so UL1 quickly matches which can vary how you place thumb on it.

RFID tag is the fastest to open. Apple/Android App can take a 20-30 seconds to connect to lock to open it.

Lock can go on left or right hand doors. Goto u-tec website and read about the UL1 with autobolt features.
